Axicon 6100-S 1D Linear Barcode Verifier

The Axicon 6000 series 1D barcode verifiers are designed to verify small linear barcodes (with a maximum length, including quiet zones, of 2.7″) typically used on products scanned at the retail point-of-sale, or pharmaceutical products scanned at the point-of-care. These barcodes include EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 39, Code 128, HIBC, GS1 DataBar, GS1-128, CIP 39 and Laetus Pharmacode*. This verifier is perfect for product manufacturers, label printers, printers and packagers, and pre-press studios.

The ‘S’ range of Axicon verifiers has a continuous scan feature, which means that obtaining at least ten different readings throughout the height of the barcode (as required by ISO/IEC) is much faster. Simply place the verifier slightly above or below the barcode, press the trigger and slide the verifier over the code – in less than a second you can have results of up to 100 scans of the code at different points in the bar height.

Axicon 6500 Series 1D Linear Barcode Verifier

The Axicon 6515 1D barcode verifiers is designed to verify linear barcodes with a maximum width, including quiet zones, of 4.9″.  This means it can be used to check all GS1 symbols used at the retail point-of-sale (EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A and UPC-E, GS1 Databar), those used on outer cases (EAN-13, ITF-14, and GS1-128), and on logistics labels (GS1-128).  For anyone printing barcode labels using a 100 mm (4 inch) wide printhead, this verifier is perfect.

It cannot be used to check 100% sized ITF-14 symbols, or A5 sized logistics labels printed using a 150 mm (6 inch) wide printhead.

The ‘S’ range of Axicon verifiers (6525-S) has a continuous scan feature, which means that obtaining at least ten different readings throughout the height of the barcode (as required by ISO/IEC) is much faster. Simply place the verifier slightly above or below the barcode, press the trigger and slide the verifier over the code – in less than a second you can have results of up to 100 scans of the code at different points in the bar height.

Features & Benefits

ISO/IEC verification with ANSI option, traditional verification, symbology auto-discrimination, automatic variable aperture, scan saving and loading, static reflectance meter, display of x-dimension and magnification, individual bar and space dimensional analysis. Product look-up option and other software plugins are available to validate data content of codes such as PZN, CIP, ISBN, ISSN.

Hardware

A CCD imager-based linear barcode verifier, designed to be ISO/IEC compliant. Aperture automatically switchable between aperture reference numbers 05, 06, 10 and 20.  Scan width 125mm (including quiet zones). Wavelength of light 660 nm. Weight: 180g. Size: 145 x 113 x 128 mm.

The 6500 series barcode verifiers are also available with a IP50 (International Protection, or sometimes known as Ingress Protection) rating. As defined by standard IEC 60529, the IP50 version protects against all harmful dust particles. The 7015-IP50 is suitable for a dusty environment such as fibreboard packaging handling areas.

Connectivity

USB or RS232 (optional)

System Requirements

Designed to function with any PC running any currently supported version of Microsoft Windows, or the Axicon PV-1000 portable display unit.

The verifier is supplied as the verifier read-head, its data cable, a CD with the Axicon verifier software (in several languages), a quick start guide, a calibration card and compliance certificates in a protective carry case.

Axicon 7015 IP50 Linear Barcode Verifier

The Axicon 7015 IP50 are ISO compliant 1D barcode verifiers for large barcodes up to 7.6″ long, but with IP-rated resistance to intrusion of dust and particulate. It is the perfect device for testing ITF14 and other very large barcodes that are often printed and used in dusty, corrugated-handling environments.

Description

The Axicon 7015 IP50 is the perfect  verifier for ITF14 barcode on corrugated. It auto-selects the correct aperture from its onboard 8, 10 and 20mil apertures. It tests the full ANSI/ISO specification. Quick and easy to use–no wands, no operator technique. Just press the button. Use it connected to your host PC with its USB cable or make it completely portable with the optional Portable Display Unit. It is IP rated to resist intrusion of dust and particulate, common to corrugated processing and known to destroy non-rated verifiers.

Axicon PV-1072 1D Linear Barcode Verifier

The PV1072 is a simplified version of the 6015 portable 1D barcode verifiers (with the PV1000 Portable Display Unit). It has the same 72mm (2.6″) scan width but is a dedicated portable: it cannot be connected to a PC and the verification report data cannot be transferred to a PC with a USB flash drive.

Description

The PV1072 is Axicon’s lowest cost verifier for 1D linear barcodes. Like it’s 6015 cousin, it auto-selects the right aperture from its 4, 5, 6, 10 and 20 mil library of apertures. It can interface to a 110v wall current printer or a battery-powered portable printer to capture a hard copy of the verification report. It is fully ISO compliant and reports the verification grade either in ANSI letters or ISO number (user selectable).

Axicon 6000W Laetus Pharmacode Verifier

This is a dedicated white light verifier for smaller Laetus Pharmacode 1D linear barcodes printed in light colors. This device has the same performance specifications as the 6015 but a different wavelength light source for these special Pharmaceutical Industry barcodes.

Description

The Axicon 6000W is the perfect  verifier for light colored Laetus Pharmacode barcodes. It can also perform look-up to validate that the barcode is the correct one for the product.

We have also developed a dedicated application to check Laetus Pharmacode barcodes that are printed in black on white, like conventional consumer package barcodes. Because this special Pharmaceutical Industry barcode does not have a decode algorithm, this software cannot be integrated into Axicon’s conventional verifier software and the ISO 155415 print quality standard grading system.
